Defunct

The Voluntary Gas Tax project operated from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 we shut down the project. We've left the old web pages posted here just for the historical record.

If you would like to contact me about this site, my e-mail address is posted on my homepage.

About us

The Voluntary Gas Tax runs on volunteer labor. Alan Field does most of the day-to-day administration, and Brian Skinner helps out.

Who are the members?

Anyone can sign up to be a member. Here is our list of current VGT members.

Who is Alan Field?

Alan Field has been a member of the Gas Tax project since 2001. In 2004 he got involved volunteering with the day-to-day administration of the project.

Who is Brian Skinner?

Brian Skinner started the Gas Tax project back in 2001. Brian is a computer programmer who lives in San Francisco. He and his friends came up with the idea of the gas tax when they were talking about everyday solutions to world problems. In 2001, Brian hired Skyhouse Consulting to set up the gas tax web site. Skyhouse Consulting ran the project from 2001 to 2004. Now Alan Field runs most of the day-to-day operations.
